# Delay

> Hold a value for a number of seconds on a Temporal timer.

Holds a value for `forS` seconds on a Temporal timer, then passes it through unchanged. A timer, not a sleeping worker — which is why it is durable only and costs nothing while it waits.

## Parameters

### `forS`

`number` · required · defaults to `60`

Seconds to hold the value, on a timer rather than an occupied worker.

## Inputs
